Hi everybody this is a topic for classical(carnatic) music lovers.There are singers in our tamil Christian music like Hema John, Jolle Abraham,etc.. who are classically trained.You can differentiate a trained singing from the rest very well.But in CSI and most of the denominations we follow the Western style in Hymns and other songs also.It gives a good exposure for playing different instruments but not anywhere vocally.Though we have church choirs,our understanding about vocals is very limited.That is one big reason for christian aspiring singers to go high.Personally I feel Indian classical music system is one of the finest in the world.So I would like people like you to share information about people who train singers classically(teaches Carnatic Music) for christian singers.It would be of great help for everybody.

Hi there, I do not live in India, hence dont know if there are christian teachers of classical music in India. But I do know that Richard Vijay brought out a set of audio CDs and DVDs for self teaching of carnatic music. Also, one can learn classical from anyone, does not have to be christian teachers. this is my humble opinion.
